The Golden Pony Award is an international award, which is awarded annually to family parks that have distinguished themselves in a positive way towards their market and their customer group. In 2022, Lilleputthammer Family Park was 1 of 9 winners from all over the world. The award ceremony took place in Italy in December 2022 and was part of the annual "Meeting della Giostra".
Reason for the award:
Lilleputthammer Family Park has received The Golden Pony Award for developing a family park specially adapted for families with small children where all attractions, activities and entertainment are adapted to children between 1 and 9 years. In addition, it is mentioned that Lilleputthammer Family Park has had the ability to make culture and history child-friendly and fun, especially with the establishment of the Children's Book City and the preservation of the houses in Storgata.
The general manager of Lilleputthammer Family Park, Irene Lien, was present during the award ceremony. She received the award on behalf of everyone who has contributed to Lilleputthammer Family Park developing into a popular destination for families with children, since the choice was between demolishing or building a new one in 2006. Irene Lien especially thanked for the contribution that over 2,100 local young people have helped to create over the past 16 summers.
The award has been awarded to 360 winners since 2002, and Norway currently has 3 winners, of which Lilleputthammer Family Park is one of them.
