The Golden Pony Award is an international prize, which is awarded annually to family parks that have distinguished themselves in a positive way in relation to their market and their customer group.
In 2022, Lilleputthammer Family Park was 1 of 9 winners from around the world. The award ceremony took place in Italy in December 2022 and was part of the annual "Meeting della Giostra".
Reason for the price: Lilleputthammer Family Park has received The Golden Pony Award for having developed a family park specially adapted to families with small children where all attractions, activities and entertainment are adapted to children between 1 and 9 years of age. In addition, it is mentioned that Lilleputthammer Family Park has had the ability to make culture and history child-friendly and fun, especially with the establishment of the Children's Book City and the preservation of the houses in Storgata. General manager of Lilleputthammer Familiepark, Irene Lien, was present during the award ceremony. She received the award on behalf of everyone who has contributed to Lilleputthammer Familiepark developing into a popular destination for families with children, since the choice was between demolishing or building a new one in 2006. Irene Lien gave special thanks for the contribution of more than 2,100 local young people helped create the last 16 summers.
The prize has been awarded to 360 winners since 2002, and Norway currently has 3 winners, of which Lilleputthammer Familiepark is one of them.
